I'm running a stock FXD(F) muffler on mine using a RAASK pipe as a header. DB rating is 80, baffle is intact and sound is great. I think an FXD is the big engine,1388 cc so it is about the correct flow rate. I'd be carful not to use 1/2 an 883 sportster set of mufflers as they would be to low flow in theory. And yes the packing does absorb water like crazy, my brother gave me one that had been sitting outside in Juneau AK and it was as heavy as the stock one and just as restrictive. Even with a 3/8hole in the baffle it was as restictive as stock also exhaust was directed at the brake lever and heated it too much IMHO. Replced it with a ST and then the RAASK HD setup. Like it best. Max
